WE NEED YOUR HELP!

PLEASE HELP OR WE CANNOT CONTINUE THE FIGHT! AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, WE ASK YOU TO PLEASE SEND YOUR CHECKS, MADE OUT TO THE "RRNA," TO OUR TREASURER:

STEPHANIE SMITH, N73 W32305 REDDELIEN ROAD, HARTLAND, WI 53029.

We all appreciate what the North Lake Management District has done. However, only the RRNA is involved in aggressive litigation to stop the DNR. If we stop fighting, then any political motivation for the DNR to change from the Kraus Site to the Kuchler Site will also disappear.
We would like to put this all in perspective in order to help you understand why this is so serious a problem for the entire lake. Exhibit A, at the right of this page, is an overview map which shows where lower Reddelien Road (running south to north along the lake) is in relationship to the Kraus Site. The DNR plans on building a road (in white broken lines) from western Reddelien north ½ mile to their land (in black).
Exhibit E shows that the entire area to the west of lower Reddelien Road is wetlands. In order to put in the Kraus Site boat launch, the DNR will have to cut down 500 trees (many of which have been around forever) and fill in lots of wetland. The attached wetlands and how they relate to the lake map shows just how intrusive the work of the DNR will be. The area where their parking lot will be located (in yellow and measuring as large as a football field) will asphalt over a beautiful grove of trees containing navigable marshland. The attached photo of the girl in a skiff shows her navigating the wetlands where the parking lot will be located.
But the real problem lies in Exhibit G, which is a flow pattern map. Here you can see how the wetlands west of lower Reddelien Road act as a collection point for water flowing from many acres of farm land. Now the water from the wetlands is directed to the north of lower Reddelien Road and thence into the lake. By the time the farm nutrients are filtered by the wetlands they do not pose a threat to the lake. However, once the football size parking lot is in place, this will block the water flow and force it over the properties on lower Reddelien Road. This will in turn surcharge their leach beds and septic systems. And thus, farm nutrients will mix with human waste products and North Lake will becom polluted with a wide variety of contaminants, including e-coli.
The people of Reddelien Road are fighting hard to stop this disaster from happening. We don’t get any public money. Attorney Gleisner works for free, but Quarles & Brady and our experts cost money. The RRNA Board has contributed a great deal to the fight. Besides other donations, each member of the Board has lent $3200 to our effort. We don't spend RRNA money on anything but the fight. For example, the Block Party on the 11th of June was made possible by food and beverage donations by the RRNA Board. This web site was built by Attorney Gleisner without any significant technical assistance.
While we have matters pending in three different forums before three different Judges, we are nearly out of money. Once the money is gone, we will have to stop fighting. As I said, if we stop fighting any motivation for the DNR to change from the Kraus Site to the Kuchler Site will also disappear. We need to raise considerable sums of money on an on going basis, or the fight against the DNR will soon end..
